Educational Activities
The Split City Museum has long acknowledged the significance of education and the value of collaborating with schools and educational institutions in Split and other Croatian cities. Since 2007, our educational work has been approached in a systematic manner. We promote and interpret Split’s history and cultural heritage through general and thematic guided tours of permanent and temporary exhibitions, museum workshops, interactive games, presentations, and various educational projects.
Venues for Our Educational Programmes
The Split City Museum’s educational programmes take place at Papalić Palace, the Emanuel Vidović Gallery, the Substructures of Diocletian’s Palace, the Old Town Hall, and the Medieval Military Walkway above the northern wall of Diocletian’s Palace. These programmes are designed not only to provide knowledge but also to develop various skills and experiences. They cater to a broad audience (including preschool and school children, students, individual visitors, and families).
Aim and Purpose
Our work seeks to inspire and nurture an interest in local history, promote the appreciation of the cultural heritage of the city at the foot of Marjan, and encourage exploration, creativity, and artistic expression.
